OpenDNS issue raised by ASTI

ASTI shared OpenDNS workaround to an issue with Asia Pacific users hitting their west coast servers and consequently not getting optimal DNS results.

We are actively spending resources on both of these to increase performance and connectivity for users such as yourself. In addition, we do a have workaround that will allow you to gain better performance from the major CDN providers. While the specifics vary depending on your DNS server, the short description is that we will need to configure your DNS server to not send certain requests to OpenDNS directly. Doing so will not affect your Content or Security filtering as these zones are exclusively used for Geo location and content distribution. The zones are as follows:

akamai.net
akadns.org
akadns.net
akamaiedge.net
akamaitech.net
edgesuite.net
edgekey.net
nsatc.net
llnwd.net
l.google.com
b.yahoo.com
yahoodns.com

If you would like instructions on how to do this for your DNS server, please let me know and I’d be happy to provide those for you. We’ll be notifing all of our customers as we press forward on this and continue to deliver better service optimized for all of our users globally.

If you have any questions, please let me know!
